Deep, tech, glitch and ambient are all apt descriptors for the work of LE_Cantin, who doesn’t shy from unorthodox sonic merges. Originally from Jonquière, Patrice Cantin, aka LE_Cantin, moved the Montreal to deepen his musical research using a wide variety of instruments before eventually settling on self-produced electronic music. He says he’s looking to create a unique sound for himself, relying on no particular formula or game plan – which explains why he’s content to journey from one electro subgenre to another, randomly picking up on all kinds of processes. The result: profound, richly detailed pieces that can propel listeners onto the dancefloor or induce headphone hypnosis, as the case may be.

LE_Cantin is an active member of Montreal label Archipel (founded by Pheek in 2005) having released two albums on the imprint. He’s also worked with overseas labels including One-Bit-Wonder and Pentagonik (Germany), Subtropical (Sweden) and Pinksilver (Australia).
